One-Night-Only Ribera del Duero Kicks Off Anya Resort’s Wine Dinner Series at

Anya Resort Tagaytay is raising a glass to wine enthusiasts with the launch of the 2025 Anya Wine Dinner Series, a quarterly celebration of fine wines from around the world. General Manager Mikel Arriet shares, “Anya Resort Tagaytay and Samira by Chele have an extensive wine cellar, and we thought this would be a great way to showcase different wine regions. Every quarter, we will highlight one region, starting with Ribera del Duero. I find its Spanish wines incredibly elegant and bold.”

The series kicks off with “Ribera del Duero” on February 28th at Samira by Chele Gonzalez, featuring Arriet’s personal selections from the region. The journey continues with “French Discovery” in June, “American Cult Wines” in September, and “Sparkling Discovery” in November.

Arriet elaborates, “France is often top of mind when talking about wine, and we’ve discovered many exciting selections to showcase for our French Discovery. For American Cult Wines, we’ll explore Napa Valley, one of the most renowned wine-producing regions, home to small yet remarkable winemakers. Finally, Sparkling Discovery was inspired by the world’s most celebrated bubblies. We challenged ourselves to create an unforgettable food and wine pairing experience worthy of these sparkling wines.”

Adding to the excitement, Anya Resort has invited esteemed sommeliers Pierre and Cyril Adison, who have handpicked exceptional wines, each with a unique story to tell.

“We will be opening medium-to-high-range wines from each region, perfectly paired with exquisite dishes by Samira by Chele. Most importantly, guests can look forward to outstanding wine, exceptional cuisine, and the joy of great company in an intimate and welcoming setting,” says Arriet.

Arriet highlights the significance of “Ribera del Duero,” saying, “This is one of Spain’s most important wine regions, home to some of its most prestigious and expensive wines. Known for their elegance and full-bodied character, these wines are primarily made from Tempranillo, though the region has also embraced other grape varieties over time.”

He further explains that the name Ribera del Duero refers to both banks of the Duero River, where the fertile land and ideal terroir create the perfect conditions for producing exceptional wines.

As the first installment of the Anya Wine Dinner Series, “Ribera del Duero” sets the stage for what’s to come. Arriet hints at something even bigger on the horizon: “Hopefully, this will lead to the creation of the first wine club here in Tagaytay.”

For this one-night-only event, guests indulged in an exclusive “Ribera del Duero” menu, featuring authentic Spanish recipes from the country’s interior and mainland, each infused with Chef Chele’s signature touch. The menu featured a curated selection of cold cuts, cheese, gambas, chorizo, lamb, and the iconic Pimenton de la Vera. Arriet elaborates, “Pimenton de la Vera is a distinctive Spanish paprika that gives chorizo its signature color and smoky depth of flavor.”
